Yes! The playground will feature poured-in-place rubber surfacing or other accessible surfacing options to ensure that wheelchairs and other mobility devices can easily navigate the play area.

We understand that parking is a key consideration. To ensure convenient access to the park, we've secured partnerships to provide ample parking options:

• West Virginia Northern Community College: Generously offering parking spaces for park visitors, especially during peak hours.
• St. Joseph the Worker/Madonna High School Campus: Providing additional parking capacity, ensuring sufficient space for events and games.
• Designated Drop-Off Zones: Conveniently located drop-off zones will be available near the park entrance for individuals with mobility challenges.

Important Note: To ensure the safety and accessibility of the area, street parking in the immediate vicinity of the park will be prohibited. We appreciate your cooperation in utilizing the designated parking areas.

We know the biggest concern revolves around light pollution spilling into neighboring properties. Believe me, I share that concern! That’s why I’ve looked into this issue, and I'm confident that we can mitigate any negative impacts. Here's why: 

Field Orientation: The field's orientation is a crucial factor. It was strategically designed to minimize light trespass onto neighboring homes. The lights will primarily be directed inwards, focusing on the playing surface, and away from residential areas.

LED Technology: We’re not talking about the glaring floodlights of the past. Modern LED lighting offers unprecedented control and precision. They offer several advantages:

• Directional Light: LEDs emit light in a specific direction, reducing light spill and glare.
• Adjustable Brightness: The intensity of the lights can be adjusted to provide optimal illumination for the field without being excessively bright.
• Shielding and Optics: Specific shielding and optics can be implemented to further control the light and prevent it from straying beyond the field boundaries.
• Energy Efficiency: LEDs consume significantly less energy than traditional lighting, leading to lower operating costs and a reduced environmental footprint.

We believe we can strike a balance between providing a valuable resource for our community's children and protecting the quality of life for those living nearby. By understanding the technology involved and planning, we can ensure that the Miracle League field lighting illuminates not only the field but also the spirit of our community.
